UpShift presents to AIGA Chapter
UpShift Creative Group, headed by Richard Shanks (Adjunct Faculty, Visual Communications) and Nicholas Staal (SAIC Alumnus, Visual Communications) presented to the student AIGA chapter ways to make design more eco-friendly. This included an understanding of government standards, programs and logos as well as procedures and practices every responsible designer should know.

TWO W3 Web Awards Won: Silver
Building on our wins in 2007 and 2008, this year UpShift received TWO silver awards from the International Academy of Visual Art's W3 Awards which honors the best web sites from around the world.
The W3 is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier firms such as Conde Nast, Coach, Disney, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Estee Lauder, HBO, MTV, Polo Ralph Lauren, Wired and many others.

UpShift Wins National Recognition for EcoLogic Lofts
The National Sales and Marketing Council and Whirlpool Corporation recently awarded UpShift Creative Group with a Silver Award in the category of Best Marketing Campaign for a Green Built Community. EcoLogic Lofts was recognized as a fresh, powerful brand through the integration of its web site, ads, direct mail, posters, brochures, and signage.

2008 W3 Awards: UpShift Receives an Award for EcoLogic's web site
UpShift received a silver award from the International Academy of Visual Art's W3 Awards which honors creative excellence on the web. This year, the competition increased as over 3,000 submissions were tallied compared to the 2,700 from last year's competition. UpShift received this award for its work on the EcoLogic Lofts web site.

Meat Heads Launches in Bloomington, Illinois
UpShift created the brand identity and interior concepts for an exciting new fast casual restaurant called Meat Heads. The brand image for Meat Heads was inspired by high-end neighborhood steak joints, infused with humor and personality to appeal to customers already familiar with this genre through establishments such as Chipotle and Potbelly's.
